AmCham EU and Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe) put youth entrepreneurship in the spotlight, showcasing young people who have chosen to become entrepreneurs and sending a positive message to the media and policy-makers.
 
For the 5th year, the award aims to recognise young people who have participated in a JA programme, have made it past the initial start-up phase and have a business concept with strong growth potential.

The winning start-up would be awarded a cash prize of 10,000€ and a mentoring programme with European CEO's, selected from across the membership of AmCham EU.
 
The five finalists are:
1. Couch (Portugal)
2. Key Butler (Norway)
3. Oculus (Romania)
4. Saluv Phone (Switzerland)
5. Social Sharks (Czech Republic)

Two representatives from each shortlisted start-up will be invited to the AmCham EU Gala Dinner in Brussels on June 8th.  
A part of the evening will be dedicated to the reveal of the 2017 Youth Entrepreneurship Award winner.

 

Evaluation criteria:

  • Demonstrate sufficient commercial potential to justify the development efforts and the risks to be taken
  • Demonstrate innovative approach
  • Demonstrate sustainability/growth of the business beyond the start-up period
  • Consideration and application of the principles of circular economy, sustainability and corporate social responsibility are an added value to your project.

 

AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award in collaboration with JA Europe

The American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU) is the voice of American business in Europe. It has been active in the European Union since 1962 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in July 2013.

While the 50th Anniversary gala marked the past half century of US business support and investment in the EU part of the evening was dedicated to recognising a young entrepreneur, with the first AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award in collaboration with JA Europe.

AmCham EU and JA put youth entrepreneurship in the spotlight, showcasing young people who have chosen to become entrepreneurs and sending a positive message to the media and policy makers. The award will be given for a fifth consecutive year in 2017!
