Lars Petter Ørving joined Manpower in June 1997 as the General Manager of Manpower Norway. Additionally, in 2000 he was named Managing Director of the Nordic Region. From July 2006 a new region was formed – EMEA North & East which includes Norway, Sweden Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. Ørving was appointed Managing Director of the new region.
As part of his role, Ørving holds a position as Chairman of the Board of Manpower’s operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Estonia.
Before joining Manpower in 1997, Ørving worked in the insurance industry for 15 years. The first ten years for Gjensidige Mutual Insurance Company, Norway’s second largest company, initially as a Sales and Marketing Director, and ultimately as CEO of their Industry Department. Due to his success at Gjensidige, Ørving was made an offer by the market leader, Storebrand Insurance Company to take the full responsibility for sales and service, underwriting and claims handling for their entire Private and SME-market in Norway.
His formal background includes Master of Business and Marketing at Oslo Business School.
