Iris Lapinski Director of Technology and Innovation

Iris joined JA Europe in September 2019. Iris is the founder and former CEO of Apps for Good a non-profit aiming to grow the next generation of problem solvers and tech entrepreneurs by working with educators, technology industry volunteers and offering course content on apps, IoT and machine learning. Since 2010 Apps for Good has reached over 170,000 young people primarily in the UK, Portugal and the US. In 2012 the Observer and Nesta named Iris as one of Britain's 50 New Radicals for her work with Apps for Good. Iris has a background in commercial digital media and telecoms consulting. She dropped out of an electronic engineering degree but then completed an undergraduate degree in cultural studies in Germany and a master’s degree in Human Rights from the London School of Economics. She is vice-chair of the TuaRes Foundation investing in girls education in Burkina Faso and an advisor to Design Club, a new social enterprise aimed at helping children and young people become design thinkers.
