AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award

Each year, thousands of JA alumni enter Europe’s economy as young entrepreneurs. Since 2013, the AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award leverages JA’s network to identify young people who have participated in a JA programme, made it past the initial start-up phase and have a business concept with strong growth potential. 

For the third year, the AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award is focusing on female entrepreneurship.

Alexandra Dimitriadou, CEO and Co-Founder of MammoCheck

Alexandra Dimitriadou graduated from the University of Cyprus with a degree in Accounting and Finance and is currently pursuing an ACCA qualification. Her vision is to create a world without deaths from breast cancer. That's why MammoCheck provides women with the ability to perform daily breast cancer check-ups from the comfort of their own homes. By detecting cancer at an early stage, women can avoid difficult treatment procedures or even death.

Natalia Konova, Founder and CEO of AMIRA Meditech 

Natalia Konova MD, is a medical doctor practicing as a Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics resident in Alexandrovska University hospital, Sofia, Bulgaria. PhD candidate in the field of antibiotic usage and assistant professor in Medical University - Sofia.

Founder and CEO of AMIRA Meditech with the mission to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics for future generations by optimizing antibiotic prescriptions in hospitals and fighting antimicrobial resistance (AMR). AMIRA provides evidence-based medical algorithm for decision support and gathers valuable data about prevalence of infections, effectiveness and safety of antibiotics and AMR dynamics.

Alexia Vasilaki, Co-Founder of Drug n Drop

Alexia Vasilaki holds a Bachelor's degree from AUEB and will be enrolled in a Master's degree in Digital Innovation and Startup Entrepreneurship. She ranked among the Greek “Forbes 30 under30” list as the Co-Founder of Drug n Drop.

Drug n Drop is a multi-awarded startup, developing a smart system to optimize the production and management of medicine. The hardware includes a smart bin, equipped with a barcode scanner and sensors for measuring internal conditions. These components are coordinated by an integrated Arduino, which collects data and shares it with the Drug n Drop app. The app enables authorized users to monitor the bin’s status and receive reports, containing valuable insights from the analysis of the organization's pharmaceutical waste.

The winner of the AmCham EU Youth Entrepreneurship Award will be announced at the AmCham EU's 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner on Wednesday, 28 June 2023 in Brussels, Belgium. 

The young entrepreneurs are competing for the following prizes: 

  • First place: 10,000 EUR and a 6-month mentorship programme with European CEOs of AmCham EU members 
  • Second place: 5,000 EUR 
  • Third place: 2,500 EUR 

Special prizes were also made available for the JA organisations nominating the winners (JA chapter or JA Alumni): 

  • First place: 2,500 EUR 
  • Second place: 1,500 EUR 
  • Third place: 500 EUR
