Train the Trainer’s session in Brussels

Brussels, 31 March 2017

On 31 March 2017, JA Europe together with 7 other JA organisations (Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Romania, Spain and Sweden) held a teacher training session in Brussels connected with the development of the new e-learning module for the core programme "JA It's My Business".

The project is funded by the European Commission, under the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2: Strategic Partnerships and focuses on fostering an entrepreneurial culture in middle grade schools building self-confidence that leads to fewer drop outs, better education choices and a stronger awareness of one’s particular talents and skills.

The e-learning module “It’s My Future” was created as an add-on to the “JA It’s My Business” programme and linked with its curriculum. Through films and interactive activities, the students are introduced to several entrepreneurs that act as role models in the discovery of student’s interests and skills. An extra activity “Meeting with an Entrepreneur” was also developed intending to strengthen this process by bringing entrepreneurs from the community into the classroom.

These 15 teachers had the opportunity to be the first to try the e-learning module and other materials developed within the project. During the session, the teachers also discussed ideas on how to prepare the students and how to use the e-learning in the classroom. Teachers and staff members learned from each other how the core programme “JA It’s My Business” is implemented in different countries and the activities they each respectively use. They shared their professional knowledge and experiences while networking with other teachers from around Europe.

Following this session, each country will hold their national teacher training in spring. Stay tuned!
